Helping Greg D.

Wanted to give you all an update on my time with Greg D. Well I met Greg at the HopeVan Outreach last month and we talked a bit. I ended up getting him a pair of shoes and I gave him a card and told him to call if he needed to talk or anything.

So I received a call from him yesterday and he was needing some help. Well this is his story:

Greg has spent the last 3 1/2 years in prison and was let out 2 and half weeks ago. I guess when you get out you get two weeks (possibly more depending on your parole officer). So his two weeks were up and he had no place to live. I guess that the PO told him to pack up his stuff and go find a spot off Lake Blvd in the canyon. I went and met his PO and he said that again while I was there. So those of you who stepped up with support have kept him off the streets at least for 2 nights.

Please be in prayer that he will be able to find a place to rent and his SSI (Social Security Insurance) goes through so he will be able to pay for a place to stay.

thanks again to all of you.

Exciting Homeless outreach info

Well…I have been on the phone quite a bit this week contacting various organizations in the Redding area that meet the needs of the homeless and low income. I am going to be meeting with Momo a doctor in town that works for Shasta County Health and is in charge of the Hope Van Project…that travels around and gives medical care and attention to the homeless and impoverished in Shasta County. Like I said before I had a great conversation with Jake Mangas at NVCSS…he said that they have several Low income and transitional housing units where there are families and individuals in need of support, care, and love. We will be getting together to see how we can meet the needs of these individuals in our community. Very Cool Please keep this opportunity in your prayers… TOMT Here is a link to their website and description of there housing: http://www.nvcss.org/programs/ho…

Homelessness…Bob and Roady

Bob and Roady have entered the life of the Bryant’s. My kids and I pray for them every night and we look for them whenever we are around Target on Churn Creek in Redding Ca.

I met Bob quite awhile ago and Erin has also met them when we have given them food or socks. The kids always ask where Bob and Roady’s house is and it seems upsetting to Elliott that they don’t have one. I love that the kids are seeing these two people. Actually seeing them is a big thing because as you watch customers enter Target you would think Bob and Roady were invisible.

I am starting to look seriously at the homeless population in Redding. Here are some really great links to resources and groups already doing some good work. I can’t wait to contact them and see how I and my church friends can help.

Also here is a link to a FaceBook Cause… http://apps.facebook.com/causes/208963?m=cc366e79…in order to join and take part in the discussion and announcements you need to create a login no big deal really.

I am an Atheist

We saw Mclaren one of the singers/authors of the song below in the video. Watching the video i am a little put off but … it really makes you think. By the end of the video I was like yeah I agree or I wish I could be at the point where I am that bold with my faith.
